ICT as Medium for Advocacy

How Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) has transformed the Educational Methodologies when you were in Grade School and now in Senior High School

    Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) have really transformed the educational methodologies of learning of the student. ICT can both Empowers the 

teachers and the learners. ICT has transformed the learning processes from the traditional that enables the learners and for the Senior High School student like us to have lots of opportunity when it comes to learning. As well as in gaining helpful skills.

    As a student, we've observed that the Learning Methods has really changed since then. And because of this, we can now Effectively communicate. Get Information and can use technology productivity. It is very helpful, especially for us students because it gives us the convenience to learn. Especially now that we are in Amidst of this crisis because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. We are grateful that we are still getting quality of Education through Distance Learning as our mode of learning this pandemic and we owe it a lot to ICT as well as to technology in General.

ICT has really transformed most of the Traditional Learning Methods back then. Consider the following below for Comparison

(a). The singing of the National Anthem

    Information and Communication and Technology (ICT) have really transformed our Educational Methodologies especially the Singing of our National Anthem. Way back in grade school, all the students were singing it together with full of Passion, Emotion and most importantly is Respect. But now that our technology has been innovated, the singing of our National Anthem had been not as serious as before. We rely on technology to play a music of our National Anthem and the students were not as serious as before. They're laughing and talking, not minding the setting the were in. 

    Before when we are having a Flag Ceremony, a teacher would give a task to a student to call the attention of the other students to gather at the Rectangle (a place where we usually held Flag Ceremonies and others) by striking the pole using a stone to create a rhythmic sound patterns. But now, the teacher would easily announced to gather around the Rectangle to begin the Ceremony. Also, we cannot begin the Flag Ceremony if we don't have a conductor. Is it because the conductor was the one who is in charge to lead the ceremony and performs the beat in front. That's how ICT works nowadays.

(b). Concepts Notes

    ICT before was not advanced as it is in today's generation, for instance back in our grade school days, during grade school days Information and Communication Technology (ICT) isn't that popular and applied to the daily routines of students and teacher. When writing concept notes it is manual writing in a plain sheet of bond paper and it is also submitted to donors without a formal call for proposals, who prefer to understand a project through a brief summary rather than a full-fledged proposal document.

    In doing concept notes today's generation, we can use cell phones, laptops and internet with the use of these it is easy to make a concept note. Over the years, technology has revolutionized our world and daily lives. Technology has created amazing tools and resources, putting useful Information at our fingertips. With all of these revolutions, technology has also made our lives easier, faster, better, and more fun.

(c). Presentation of visual aids

    Visual Aids are the means used in a presentation in school, work, organization and even in a program to visually express a concept or an idea. It serves to boost the imagination of the listeners. Back in Elementary days, in presenting visual aids, the teachers or the students are using a Manila Paper (a relatively inexpensive type of paper, generally made through a less-refined process than other types of paper, and is typically made from a semi-bleached wood fibers) or a Cartolina (a type of thick, stiff, colored paper used for making models or posters and in other Craftwork). They used those two types of paper to make a presentation by writing or drawing using a Black Marker (they can also use a Red and Blue Marker).

   Over the years, our technology has gradually changed, including the proliferation of ICT. Because of that, many Traditional Learning Methods has changed. One of these is the way we present our visual aids. If then, we used manila paper, cartolina and marker to make our visual aids for a report, but in today's generation, we use PowerPoint Presentation (a software package designed to create electronic presentations consisting of a series of separate pages or slides).

(d). Class Record

    ICT has really transformed the Educational methods for the students. In A Lot  of Aspects. Especially in a simple class recording it is that we've observed that before the teachers do their class records by just writing it on their record, but now they can do it more conveniently by just recording it their own personal ICT Devices such as Laptops,Ipad and Tablets.

(e). Class Dismissal

    

    Class Dismissal is often a bad instance for a student because it hinders us to learn, but it's not a problem nowadays. As part of the transformation of the Educational Methodologies is that Enables the student to still learn through the use of ICT. As ICT Effectively gives us ways on how to get information related to Acquiring Knowledge online. As well as communicating with our teacher online which makes learning easy and convenient but still effective.

    

    Because, as a student instead of looking through all the negative part of it, we still want to be influenced by the positive ones. As we believe that this transformation will always result in the increased learning gains for students as it creates and allows us to get more opportunities to learning as to gaining skills.

(f). Assignment and Research

    For us, as an SHS Students we have experienced how ICT has transformed our Educational Methodology to the traditional. As before, we doesn't have subjects with concerns to computer  and technology, but now it has transformed Effectively as it Enables the student. As we are now getting enhanced by learning processes. As we already have ICT related courses and even Research Projects.

    ICT did also give us the most convenient way of getting and accessing information online. In fact, because of it the students are also given the chance to be more creative and skillful. As everything that we need to learn for a project or with a particular subject is being learned and explained online. It's just that we have to find the most reliable ones.

    Assignments and Researches are really not a big burden to students as all the help given by the internet is present as well as video tutorials and the presence of the Artificial teachers are also very helpful.
