WHY INCOMING SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Do you aspire to be one of the greatest Doctor's someday? Just like the one you've always seen in k-drama series. Do you want to be part of the greatest scientist in the future? That digs up the mystery in every living creature. Do you want to build the tallest, biggest and strongest building that yet to be made? Do you want to invent drugs that could cure a person in just a minute? Or do you want to be a famous tactician and hacker in the near future? STEM strand can make it all possible. STEM strand can make the "IMPOSSIBLE" turn to "I'M POSSIBLE".
Senior High School students opting to take Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Strand have a set of core subjects slightly different from those taking the other strands Accountancy, Business and Management; General Academic; and Humanities and Social Science. STEM is an approach to learning and development that integrates the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Studying and working in STEM means learning about the world around you, finding innovative solutions to real-world challenges, and playing a role in some of the country's major discoveries and development.
Choose STEM because this strand is compatible in any kind of course in college. We all know that this strand is much harder than other kind of strand but on the other side it makes our mind advance and it makes us much prepared on college life like making mechanical contraptions out of paper, strings and whatever else was at home, inventing parachutes and other stuff to play with. Apart from that for some, choosing the right strand is not just about making new friends and discovering new things related to a subject (like learning to make ice cream in chemistry). More important, it is about envisioning your dream job and career path. Choosing a career is difficult in itself, however, senior high school prepares you to make crucial decisions that will impact your future. STEM is difficult but intelligence is not measured by a number on a piece of paper. You go to school to learn, not to memorize no matter how much it seems like everything is just memorization. Learn the concepts. Don't just memorize the terms. Take charge and strive to learn and grow. Don't be complacent. STEM is ever growing and ever changing and you should be too.
In STEM strand, students are taught skills that they can use in real world. This motivates students to learn, as they know that the skills that they acquire can be utilized immediately, and in ways that positively impact them and their loved ones. The ability to apply their knowledge to new and novel tasks will bode well for them when they enter the workforce. When it comes to choosing the right strand for you, remember to play on your strengths. The strand you choose will be the skills and knowledge you're learning will be focused on for the next 2 years and more so it'll be good to actually like what you get yourself into. What are you waiting for? CHOOSE STEM.

As a STEM student myself I don't have any regret that I choose to take STEM strand in my senior high school. Because as an incoming college freshman I can say that College universities mostly prioritized students that take STEM strand in senior high school to take science and engineering related courses. I also hope in the future that it will help me open many opportunities as well.
